Lou Gehrig Day at Comerica Park

CHALLENGE
ALS of Michigan was looking to capitalize on one of their largest revenue generating events – Lou Gehrig at Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers). Previous marketing attempts lacked engaging branding resulting in mediocre revenue generated from the event. It was clear this was a great venue and opportunity to advantage of the viewing audience. Engaging them was key to the event’s success.
SOLUTION
Research was done to reflect an earlier era in baseball with a modernized feel. The resulting design had a stylized Illustration of Lou Gehrig above a logotype that could be used together as the primary logo or separately for different media applications. The client was very pleased with the design as well as the positive response from event attendees. Creative assets included: Event identity, marketing collateral, signage (digital & print), social media, press kits and souvenir apparel. Since providing creative in 2007, revenue for the event has increased by more than 75%.
